Static Aircraft Display
The static aircraft display is a former 186th Meridian Air Guard RF-4C Phantom II aircraft 67-0438. This iconic aircraft stands in honor to the men and women of the Meridian Air Guard since it's establishment on September 27, 1939. The Static Aircraft Display stands in honor to all Meridian and East Mississippi area veterans who served in the Armed Forces of the United States of America. An interpretative sign commemorating the history of the F-4 Phantom and its service with the Mississippi Air National Guard is adjacent to the aircraft. As a special honor, on either side of the aircraft, under the canopies’, are the names of four crewmembers of the RF-4 Phantom who lost their lives while serving in the 186th TRG/153TRS, Meridian Air Guard. A monument with memorial plaques to the four crewmembers and the aircraft dedication plaque are adjacent to Meridian's Jet. Six service emblems for each branch of military encircle the aircraft display.
